Kitchen Assistant

£12.45 - £13.59 per hour

Main Purpose of the Role
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support the Cook in delivering high-quality meal services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic cooking and food preparation tasks across a variety of meals and beverages.
- Serve food, ensuring appropriate portion control.
- Carry out general cleaning duties, including washing up, within the kitchen and dining areas.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as handling cash, maintaining records, managing stock, and tracking daily food usage.
- Uphold hygiene standards and ensure compliance with Health & Safety and HACCP regulations in the kitchen.
- Work flexible hours, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts as required.
- Foster positive relationships with residents and promote healthy eating habits.
- Encourage residents to explore a wide variety of foods.
- Be prepared to take on different duties or roles, in line with the Council's flexibility policy, according to your skill set.
- Undertake any additional tasks that may arise, consistent with the grade of the role.
