Childcare Worker

Main Purpose of the Role

To provide emotional, social, and physical care to children and young people in residential care, ensuring their well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Child-Centered Care: Provide direct emotional, physical, medical, and educational support, ensuring all welfare needs are met. Promote diversity and inclusivity, respecting cultural, religious, and individual differences.
• Supervision & Engagement: Supervise children in daily activities, facilitate informal group work, and support their education, leisure, and personal development.
• Key Worker Role: Observe and record behaviors, contribute to care plans, attend child care reviews, and advocate for children's views and needs.
• Household Responsibilities: Assist with domestic tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and shopping to maintain a nurturing home environment.
• Collaboration & Professional Development: Work closely with colleagues, external agencies, and families to provide holistic care. Attend team meetings, training courses, and continuous professional development programs.
• Flexible Working: Participate in a shift-based rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight stays.
