Casual Community Centre Assistant

Salary: Up to £12 per hour
Location: Widnes

 

As a key holder, you will ensure the premises are opened, prepared, and secured for various hirers. You'll assist and supervise contractors, customers, and hirers, addressing enquiries and complaints, and reporting to the Community Centre Supervisor when necessary. Responsibilities include setting up rooms with appropriate equipment and furniture, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and demonstrating flexibility to work across Community Centres in Halton. Shifts may include mornings, after

  • Building Security: Lock/unlock the building, ensure safety, and respond to alarm call-outs as a key holder.
  • Manual Handling & Compliance: Follow manual handling techniques and comply with C.O.S.H.H. regulations for cleaning.
  • Cleaning: Maintain high cleanliness standards by cleaning designated areas, including rooms, furniture, and toilets.
  • Setup & Dismantling: Arrange and remove equipment, tables, and chairs as needed.
  • Customer Assistance: Help customers with inquiries, bookings, and provide general support.
  • Catering Support: Assist with catering services when required.
  • Administration: Handle administrative tasks, including photocopying, completing forms, and cash handling.
  • Health & Safety Checks: Perform routine checks, report defects, and ensure the Centre's safety.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Work alone or as part of a team, performing duties within your competence.
  • Emergency Procedures: Be knowledgeable about fire safety, evacuation, and bomb threat procedures.
  • Training: Participate in training as directed by the Centre Supervisor.
