Meet the Team – Nicola Fedigan

To start, meet our Business Manager, Nicola Fedigan…  

Tell us about your working background 

I have over 8 years’ experience within the recruitment industry, the majority of which has been with a global outsourcing recruitment company. Here I was exposed to a wide variety of roles across a range of sectors, giving me a great understanding of the different needs and complexities of each. For the last few years I managed the team of recruiters and led on multiple projects around Talent Attraction, AI Development, and Data Reporting, and many more. 

What is your role at Connect2Halton? 

Appointed as Business Manager, I am responsible for leading the team of Talent Partners and Resourcing Assistants to manage and improve the contingent workforce provision for Halton Council.  

What do you like about working in the recruitment industry? 

I love having the ability to really make a difference to people’s lives. More than ever people need employment and rely on the income however, my firm belief is that you should also enjoy and feel rewarded for what you spend a good portion of your waking life doing, so being able to match good candidates with roles they both need and want really enjoy motivates me. 

What are you most looking forward to in your role? 

I am excited to be able to build and develop my team to delivery an outstanding recruitment service to the council, supporting Halton Council’s drive to be an Employer of Choice locally, and ultimately contribute to investment into the council wider services. 

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? 

I am happiest at home with my partner and dog! I am a big rugby league fan and love a true crime documentary. 

Any tips for jobseekers? 

Never give up, have belief in your abilities and strengths. Learn and grow from every piece of feedback you receive, even if it may seem challenging at the time. It can sometimes feel disheartening but stay positive, and keep going because you never know when the best opportunity may come along!
